Board Certified in Family Practice

Dr. Akhavan is a board certified physician in Family Practice. Dr. Akhavan received his medical degree from the Autonomous School of Medical Practices in San José, Costa Rica in 1999. Dr. Akhavan received his Nevada Medical License in 2005, and he completed a residency in General Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in 2001. Dr. Akhavan completed a second residency in Family Practice at Shenandoah Valley Family Practice in 2005. Dr. Akhavan has been in practice for over 20 years.

Dr. Akhavan began his role as an Investigator with ACRI in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2025, working on Phase II and Phase III clinical trials. Dr. Akhavan’s primary therapeutic areas include internal medicine and rheumatology.
